About

Hi! My name is Anika (rhymes with harmonica), and I’m an electrical engineer and ocean scientist from Beaverton, Oregon. I received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama in 2024, and I am currently a Mitchell Scholar at University College Cork in Ireland. After returning to the States in Fall 2025, I will begin my PhD studies in Acoustics at the University of Texas at Austin and the Applied Research Laboratories as a McKinney Fellow.

I like to keep one foot in engineering and the other in ocean science, and I’m fascinated by waves of all kinds—acoustic, ocean, and electromagnetic!

Outside of research, I love music (piano, violin, viola, theremin), fantasy novels, amateur radio (KJ7JBA), and art.

Thanks for stopping by :)
